Director of MIT Energy Initiative addresses the energy university of the future

On 1 March Professor Ernest J. Moniz, the Director of the MIT Energy Initiative, will give a guest lecture at TU Delft on the future of energy research, education and innovation. Moniz is a Professor of Physics and Engineering Systems and the director of the Laboratory for Energy and the Environment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

He is also an active policy maker and advisor in the area of energy and technology. He served as Under-Secretary of the US Department of Energy from 1997 to 2001. From 1995 to 1997 he was Associate Director for Science at the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the US president. He now serves on President Obama’s Council of Advisors for Science and Technology.


Staff members and students are more than welcome to join the meeting, co-hosted by the Delft Energy Initiative and the students of its Energy Club. The lecture will take place on 1 March 2010 from 12.45 to 13.45 in Lecture Room A at the Faculty 3mE, Mekelweg 2.
